Membership

While getting a state CCRC law passed was a huge achievement, it is only a start. Legislation is never set in stone. It is important to be proactive in representing the interests of seniors by advocating for new protections as needed. That means that WACCRA, as your “consumer advocate”, must fund our part-time lobbyist in Olympia. 

Our lobbyist helps to:

1. improve the law to better safeguard our interests;
2. learn immediately when new legislation or amendments affecting our interests are introduced in the Legislature; and
3. communicate better with our elected representatives in Olympia.
    

WACCRA membership dues pay for the administrative work we do, and also help pay our lobbyist. In order to keep our lobbyist working for all residents, additional contributions are needed. You can help fund WACCRA’s legislative work by writing a check payable to WACCRA, subject line: “contribution”.
